Montage is a comfy hat you won’t be able to resist on cold and breezy days. It features earflaps and dense fabric to ward off chills in the air. It’s just a bit slouchy, and it’s topped with a pom pom. What more can you ask for in a hat?

Universal Yarn Deluxe Bulky Superwash (100% superwash wool; 100g/106 yds) 
946 Azure Heather (A) – 1 skein 
Rozetti Yarns Cinema (70% wool, 25% nylon, 5% cashmere; 100g/109 yds) 
301 Spice Market (B) – 1 skein 
Needles: US 9 (5.5 mm) 16” circular or size needed to obtain gauge 
US 10 (6 mm) 16” circular and set of DPNs 
Notions: stitch markers, stitch holder, 2½” pom pom maker, US Size I-9 (5.5 mm) hk (or similar size to needles used to obtain gauge; used for attaching braids) 

GAUGE 
17 sts x 20 rows/rnds = 4” in Brim patt 

PATTERN NOTES 
This hat begins by knitting two earflaps separately from the bottom up. After the earflaps are complete, they are joined together with cast-on stitches to create a brim that is then is worked in the round. The brim and body of the hat are worked with contrasting colors. A pom pom is secured to the top of the hat, and braided ties are attached to the bottom of each earflap.
